Abstract

The conference Reflection of modern railways in education and research was held in Prague, in May 28, 2025.

The Student Scientific Conference held in 2025 follows on from previous years, organized by the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences. The main focus of this year is again the topic of railway digitalization, which does not only concern the areas of control, command and signaling and vehicles, but also extends to other areas of railway transport: logistics and dispatching applications, information and dispatching technologies, maintenance, etc. The conference was opened with three invited papers. The conference was divided into thematic areas covering the above-mentioned issues: Railways 4.0 (digitalization), Optimization in railway transport management, Innovation in railway infrastructure, Modern rolling stock, Environment and railways, New directions in maintenance, Logistics and management. The professional level of the conference was guaranteed by the speeches of leading experts in railway transport from universities and from companies and institutions in railway transport (e.g. SŽ, ČD, VUŽ, VUKV). The main part of the participants will be students of master's and doctoral study programs from CTU in Prague, BUT Brno, University of Pardubice, VŠB-TU Ostrava and University of West Bohemia, who are engaged in research in the field of railway transport. The professional level of the accepted papers was ensured by a review process, which was covered by the scientific committee of the conference consisting of experts from CTU in Prague, BUT Brno, University of Pardubice and institutions in railway transport, chaired by Prof. Ing.
