Focus and Scope

Magazine of Aviation Development is a scientific electronic magazine published by Department of Air Transport at CTU in Prague. As the title implies, Magazine of Aviation Development is focused on aviation and everything connected with it. MAD fills a gap in the aviation scientific scene.

The aim is to cover the entire aviation domain from basic research, over applied research and implementation of new ideas and solutions to aviation operations. The magazine should be an information channel, where current aviation issues are described and solved.

Peer Review Process

In Magazine of Aviation Development are published scientific and specialized papers that has not previously been published elsewhere and that contains outputs that are beneficial and original for aviation.

All papers are addressed by the editorial board and reviewed by two reviewers in blind review process.

The review process is completed within one month.

Quartely, 4 issues per year

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

By "open access" to this literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.

MAD Magazine of Aviation Development publish articles free of charge for authors.

Journal History

MAD - Magazine of Aviation Development was established by the Department of Air Transport at the Czech Technical University in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences in 2013. The aim of the magazine was to create an information channel that would deal with the current development of aviation and publish articles, which concern not only the scientific issues related with aviation, but also ideas that can enrich aviation.

The original focus on aviation operations and development in the areas of Aviation Safety, CNS/ATM, Aviation Security and GNSS was extended to the entire domain of aviation for meeting defined aim after two years of publishing.

The magazine is constantly growing, which can be seen in the number and composition of the editorial board members as well as its indexing in various periodical’s databases.
