The field of Conceptual Design is very alive and is rapidly developing. This paper investigates the disciplines and domains which substantially form its profile. There are considered disciplines such as Semiotics, Formal Logic, Evolutionary analogies, Qualitative Modelling, Ontologies, Artificial Intelligence and Emergent Synthesis.
